Are you Alone or Lonely?

There's a difference between being alone versus being lonely. Islam gives us a balance between the two. If you swing the pendulum on one side, it becomes disastrous.

Some people have a hard time eating lunch by themselves (they absolutely need to be with others). On the other side, some people just can't stand being with anyone at all and would rather be on their own.

The Prophet (SAWS) had the best of both worlds. He (SAWS) dealt with a lot of people, but he also spent time alone in the cave and had alone time with Allah (SWT) in prayer. The key here is to have a balance between the two (not to be completely one or the other).
